Indian Council For Diabetic Care a Non-Governmental Organization had its origin in Bangalore, Karnataka and was started in 2009. The primary motive of this organisation is the health care for people.
Major Activities and Focus areas of this Council: Diabetes is spreading at an alarming pace in India. The prevalence of diabetes in India is 62.47 per 1,000 populations, making it the highest diabetes burdened country in the world. Hence ICDC is formed for the health care of people with regarding diabetics. Since its inception, it has been serving tirelessly in implementing activities on diabetes awareness, detection and care.
ICDC is Providing Doorstep Diabetes Care to the Rural people all over India as it is a problem of Indian people. ICDC is implementing this programme through NGOs working in Rural areas. The main goal of ICDC are - Diabetes Identification, Prevention, Control and Management. This organisation provides the old age people with free diabetes care, and focuses on continued Check-ups at frequent intervals, awareness programs for patients, Diabetes Detection Camps through NGOs. Thus, with its developmental services, this NGO de-stigmatizes and raises awareness about Diabetes
