India HIV/AIDS Alliance (Alliance India)

About

India HIV/AIDS Alliance (Alliance India) is established as a not-for-profit organization under Section 8 (formerly Section 25 Company under Companies Act 1956) of the Companies Act 2013. Founded in 1999, we implement the pan-India (across 32 states and union territories) HIV Response Programme with 600+ community-based partners. Our programme complements the national programme of the government of India and reaches across more than a million people annually. We collaborate and work very closely with National AIDS Control Organization (NACO – Under Ministry of Health and Family Welfare) and its state chapters to prevent, treat and care for children and adults living with HIV.

Alliance India works through capacity building, technical support and advocacy to strengthen the delivery of effective, innovative, community-based interventions to children and adults affected by the epidemic. The technical expertise of Alliance India has evolved in response to what communities need to effectively address HIV and co infections attached to it like Tuberculosis, Hep C, Mental health issues among others. Our area of work encompasses Prevention, Care & Support, Human Rights, Gender Equity, Sexual & Reproductive health (SRH) and HIV integration, Drug use and HIV. Currently the organization is successfully implementing 9 projects and our interventions reach across 32 states including 4 union territories of India and with our in partner’s seven countries in South East Asia.

While working towards a healthier and equitable India we understand the key populations who are at high risk and most vulnerable, thereby extending services to children, mothers and adults living with HIV, wherein we have attempted not just on their health and mental aspects but also to integrate them into mainstream society.
