Established in the year 2002 by a group of young corporate professionals keeping with its philosophy of ‘Real Work Real Change’, the members of Smile Foundation endeavour with an indispensable drive to bring positive changes in the lives of underprivileged children, their children and communities.
Believing in this principle of 'Civic Driven Change' Smile foundation work as a catalyst in bringing sustainable change, engage proactively in the change process and adopt the highest standards of governance.
Following a lifecycle approach, Smile Foundation works intensively through focused welfare projects in four major areas – child education, healthcare for families, skills training and livelihood for youth, and community engagement through women empowerment. So far, we have been able to directly impact the lives of over 1 million children and families.
Smile Foundation believes that education is both the means as well as the end to a better life. Education is the most effective tool which helps children build a strong foundation; enabling them to free themselves from the vicious cycle of ignorance, poverty and disease. We realised that Education for Children cannot be achieved without the family, particularly, unless the mother is assured of health care and empowered. Moreover, when an elder sibling is educated and relevantly skilled to be employable and begins earning, the journey of empowerment continues beyond the present generation.
