Sri Sakthi Social Economic and Education Welfare Trust
With the ultimate motto of clearing the cobwebs that surround the deprived class, our trust has been getting involved sincerely and seriously in promoting Self Help Groups for their sustainable economic development through relevant self-employment schemes.
The rural areas of Dindigul District could be fairly described as undeveloped and underdeveloped in a material sense. Most rural children did not attend school beyond the primary grades. Health levels were low due to poverty and ignorance. The rural women were deeply engaged in a never-ending struggle, as in many other areas of the various regions to maintain their family at bare existence levels against daunting odds.
To meet this need, five comprehensive training courses were conducted successively with much more effort at different locations with outstanding results. Dull and apathetic trainees become alert and competent as they realized their own potential.
We have organized ecological programs & campaigns against non-biodegradable produce in its operational areas. The Trust has conducted Health Awareness Programs including AIDS awareness, eye camps, and mother and child health screening camps.
A cultural team has been set up to motivate the rural mass by creating awareness about the importance of education/medical awareness/empowerment/ecological concepts/saving habits and importance and benefit of self-help groups, self-employment schemes and other important subjects through street plays/village dramas etc.
